On the 25th February more than 100 people who have been deported from the UK and other European countries to the Kurdistan region of Iraq will demonstrate in front of the Kurdistan Regional Government to demand the government stop accepting deportations from Europe and organise compensation packages and employment for the deportees.
The International Federation of Iraqi Refugees, which most of the deportees are members of, has called a demonstration in solidarity outside the offices of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
The demonstration comes as organisations and individuals, including MPs and the biggest trade union in the UK, have sent letters to the KRG and the Iraqi Governments to demand they stop accepting deportations. We are calling on the KRG to end its collusion with the British Home Office in deporting people from the UK against their will.
Meet at Edgware Road, Chapel Street exit at 11.45
